“Illiteracy may do more damage to our organizations than any foreign competitor or any economic disaster.”
Thomas R. Horton, Former President and CEO American Management Association
It is estimated that American businesses lose over $60 billion in productivity each year due to employees' lack of basic reading skills. One of the major activities Project Literacy has offered in Bergen County for the past 20 years is the development of workplace literacy programs tailored to meet the specific needs of a business or company. Project Literacy can dispatch a team of experts to your company or organization to do the following:
Perform an Adult Literacy Audit:
§ Observe employees to determine the literacy skills they need to do their
jobs effectively.
Set the Goals for a Workplace Literacy Program:
§ Clarify and define the workplace needs
Design a Workplace Literacy Program:
§ Provide on-site training to those employees in need of assistance
